Running Wild “Cheetahs” are on the loose! See our team at local events inspiring the community with healthy competition. Our running team strives to inspire and lead by example while balancing everyday life.

Kristy Maxwell

Kristy is a new girl on the block to the race scene. Through the encouragement of the Running Wild Staff, the training programs available and Phat Girlz, she completed Pensacola Marathon 2012, New Orleans Rock n' Roll Marathon in 2013, Pensacola Beach Half Marathon 2013, Double Bridge 15k 2013, Gulf Coast Half Marathon 2013 and most recently Fiesta 10k. Kristy loves to run because it keeps her mind grounded, her body strong and her soul happy.Kristy loves the arts and after graduating college, majoring in Mass Communication/ Television Production at SUNY Oneonta, she attended The Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in NYC for acting and writing. Her career path lead her to Veterinary health and Nano Technology which was completely unexpected.Must have items for Kristy are Newtons and a Sweatyband.

Gary "Mad Dog" Maddock

Gary has run 44 marathons and far more than 100 half marathons – 6 time Boston finisher. His favorite running memory? In 2005 he ran the Boston, Chicago, and New York City Marathons and finished all three, side by side, next to his daughter, Crystal. Priceless.Gary loves the electric feel of a race morning with the anxiety, the nerves, the adrenaline and knowing that all the hard work and long miles to prepare have come down to this.Everyone knows Gary as Mad Dog, but to three very special little people – the grandchildren – he is Papa Dog. Gary runs with elastic laces and his RW Headsweats visor. "I can’t run without a hat."

Livvy Jernigan

Livvy has run consistently and fairly seriously for the past seven years once she discovered and became addicted to the long run. Four marathons and many half marathons and 15-10-and-5Ks later, she found comfort, confidence, perspective and sanity in distance running. She's working on chipping away at her marathon time over the next few years but loves to encourage and pace other runners, as well. "Since I began running with the Phat Girlz in 2009, the staff at Running Wild has been an integral part of the progress I’ve made as a runner." In between runs, she teaches English composition and literature classes at UWF. As a distance runner on the Gulf Coast, Livvy can’t live without Nuun Hydration drink tabs to keep her hydrated during training and racing.

Brent Schneider

Brent is an accomplished runner. He ran Varsity Track and Cross Country at University of Florida and became Co-Captain as a senior.Some of his many racing accomplishments include: Gainesville Marathon Champion 2007 (2:26:30 PR), Pensacola Marathon Champion 2012, Stroller 5k PR= 16:30. You will see Brent leading most local races pushing his daughter in a stroller across the finish line.To Brent, running is a gift that provides balance to a busy lifestyle and an immense sense of accomplishment.Brent is one in a set of triplets (3 boys, not identical). His "must have" for running is his RW Headsweats visor and a pair of Feetures socks.

Jared Moore

Jared is an avid endurance athlete. He qualified for Boston at his first marathon and continues to grace the podium. In addition to running he was a NCAA Division 1 High Jumper and races triathlon including a 10 hour Ironman finish.Jared loves to run because it can be a challenging (and healthy) outlet regardless of age, fitness, ability, tax-bracket, geography or stage of life.Jared can play the didgeridoo and is married to a Brazillian babe on the RW Tri Team.His "must have" item while training or racing: the Garmin 310XT.

Shannon Kohler

Shannon started running for mental health and has loved running ever since. She and her husband are currently working towards racing a marathon in every state (two of which she has been overall female winner).She is a physical education teacher and has coached varsity CC runners. She works at Running Wild and inspires runners daily.Shannon runs in the Newtons. Her favorite shorts are Moving Comfort Momentum Short because they are flattering and comfortable.

Lex Griffin

Lex has run the Houston Chevron Marathon, Pensacola Marathon, and New Orleans Marathon where she qualified for Boston.Running is time she gets to herself, she is mom to two young boys ages 5 and 1.Lex's Amphipod Water Bottle is "a must" in Florida!

Camren Cane

Camren started triathlons on a whim in Guam, after playing competitive soccer for most of her life. She won several sprint triathlons, Guam Xterra, and Guam National Olympic Distance Triathlon. She placed 7th in her age group at the Xterra World Championship in Maui in 2012 before moving to Florida.Camren loves running races and triathlons because of the competition and camaraderie. She also likes all her "battle" scars and an occasional face plant on a mountain bike ride. "Keeps me on my toes."Camren can't live without her Thorlo socks, Brooks running shoes, and her Running Wild HEADSWEATS visor.

Rusty Branch

Rusty Branch is the February Athlete of the Month. Rusty’s athletic ability is surpassed only by his humble attitude and generosity in giving back to the sport of running. After only a couple of years as a runner he competed in his first marathon finishing in 2 hours and 59 minutes and only one year later improved his finish time in the marathon to 2 hours and 51 minutes. His greatest accomplishment as a competitive runner, though, is his encouraging spirit in helping others reach their goals. Rusty does all this while effectively balancing a full time career, being a supportive husband to his wife Melanie and father to three young children, and serving as senior pastor of a church.

Lisa Fairbanks

Lisa is a long time runner. Starting out running high school track, being a CPA she has continued running for “stress relief” and the other many benefits of running. Lisa has lived in the Pensacola area 12 years and enjoys running the classic Pensacola races including Double Bridge, Pensacola Marathon, Fiesta, and Seafood Festival. She enjoys helping the running community by volunteering at races. Lisa’s must have’s as a runner includes a Garmin GPS watch and toe socks.
