Signing up for an event sets a clear purpose for your training and workouts. Knowing you have “signed on the dotted line” will give you that extra motivation to get up. You won’t want to miss work outs when there is an event on the horizon.
2. Set a goal.
Setting realistic and attainable goals are key to making lasting changes towards a heathly lifestyle. You know you are working towards an event, but what is the goal for the event? Are you trying to run the whole 3 miles without walking? Are you trying to fit into and old pair of jeans? Whatever the case for you, chose a specific goal and write it down. Share it with friends and family, so they can offer encouragement.
3. Join a group.
Keying in with other like minded people will hold you accountable. Having a group or coach to offer extra motivation, tips and fellowship will keep you on track to reach your goal.
