27 of our Golden Wings runners showed stellar performances at the AAU Regional Qualifier in Tallahassee, FL.
Of those 27 runners, 18 qualified for the Junior Olympics held in Humble, TX. July 30th-August 6th.
AAU Regional Qualifier Results
“Being able to see the athletic growth in the youth is just truly awesome. The determination in our youth to succeed not only on the field, but also off, is a wonderful part for me to partake in their lives.” Coach Mike
“My experience from Tallahassee, was that we were more successful than I thought we would be. Competing against teams that not only have been together for multiple years, but also practice 5+ more days a week, I would have never thought that we would have had 18 athletes qualify for JO. I was also surprised that these young athletes did not let the pressure get to them, even though they had little to no experience in such a competitive environment.” Coach Pat
What’s next for these athletes?
“As for what I look forward to in the final weeks, watching these athletes continue to show up for practice ready to run despite the hot Florida summer!” Coach Pat.
More Golden Wings runners are hoping to qualify for the Junior Olympics in Kissimmee, FL at the AAU Club championships July 13-16.
The Junior Olympics is an incredible opportunity for these athletes. Our hopes are for every qualified athlete to be able to participate in the events that they have worked so hard for.
