Molly lives in the beautiful town of Fairhope, AL where our sister store is located. She lives there with her husband and two boys, Miles who is 3 and Jack who is 1. They have become quite the running family! The whole Spain crew enjoys going to group runs. Molly’s husband usually pushes the boys in the stroller as she gets time to enjoy some peace and quiet while she runs. Running has always been apart of Molly’s life so getting to do that with the loves of her life is a blessing.
Molly has reached significant goals- starting with a marathon and then making her way to IRONMANS!
Read all about Molly’s love for running…
Why did you start running?
“I have always enjoyed running and played sports in high school and college but really found a love for it right after college when I worked my first job as a Team In Training coordinator for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I was trying to talk all these people in to running a marathon and raising lots of money so I decided I better try out a marathon myself! I ran my first marathon (Disney Marathon) and loved every minute of it! I especially loved having a great group of people to train with and the friendships I made. Later that year I met my now husband who was training for his first Ironman and, of course, got even more in to running and triathlons and found that it is something we loved to do together.”
How has Running Wild helped you reach your goals?
“Running Wild for sure helps keep me accountable to running. I help with the Wednesday Wild Tribe Run and its always great to know I can show up and will have friends to run with. Its sometimes hard to fit running in with 2 boys but if I know Running Wild is having a group run I try to show up and make it fit in to my schedule (and they love when we bring our boys to runs)”
What is your greatest (most favorite) athletic/running accomplishment to date and why?
“I have a few favorite/athletic accomplishment to date… I played college softball at the University of Mobile and my senior year we won the NAIA National Championship-that was a pretty awesome accomplishment for our team.
Probably my most challenging accomplishment or greatest is 2 1/2 Ironmans I have done-Augusta 70.3 & Rev3 Venice, Fl. After my first marathon I wanted to try out a triathlon so began with some shorter distances and worked my way up to the 1/2 Ironman race. I wish I had more time to train for triathlons now but my boys keep me busy! I try to do the local Grandman Triathlon in Fairhope every year.
