“Earlier this week Oiselle, one of our women’s fitness apparel brands, came up with a really cool challenge to start the new year off and to celebrate the full circle of love. They call it Six Weeks to Run Love Challenge.”
Now, let me be real with you. I’m pretty darn unorganized and have the attention span of…. something that has a very short attention span. Although the best intentions for crushing my goals are there I know I NEED help in executing a plan to achieve them.
Cherie told me, “I need extra accountability. I need my run love partner to text me through out the day telling me to drink a glass of water right now or to do a double pigeon pose. I need someone to share my excitement when I finish a 25 minute run as I work up to a 2.5 hour run.“ and all I could think is, can you read my mind?!
Ask for help and you shall receive! Earlier this week Oiselle, one of our women’s fitness apparel brands, came up with a really cool challenge to start the new year off and to celebrate the full circle of love. They call it Six Weeks to Run Love Challenge. You make a plan for 6-weeks of goals with a final goal at the end. Not only do you have a week-by-week plan but you choose a “Run Love Buddy” to team up with.
A structured plan PLUS a friend to encourage and keep each other accountable?? We basically jumped at the idea!
Cherie and I are PUMPED to be working towards our independent goals. I can personally say that I feel a deep sense of responsibility to not let her down by slacking on my end.
Cherie possesses the key traits to what I believe are required for success; strength (mental and physical), positivism, realistic and fearless! I am a natural cheerleader, I love rooting for those putting in effort to be their best selves. Even if that means nailing their 8-glasses of water per day goal.
We are in this 6-weeks of growth together, even though we’re working towards completely separate goals! She’ll be using her TomTom to track mileage and I’ll be running in my Altra The One 2.5!
It’s a beautiful thing.
Choose your tribe wisely. Live your best life, to the fullest. Set goals, plan, act, and grow.
Here is Week #1 of the 6- Week Run Love Challenge:
- Find/pick/propose/ask a friend to do this with you. This is your Run Love Buddy. You will encourage, check-in with and keep this person accountable to their goals, as they will you.
- Choose a goal that can be accomplished at the end of 6-weeks (I chose a finish time goal of 1 hour and 3 minutes for the Double Bridge 15k)
- Fill in your weekly goals, week-by-week in order to achieve said goal. (Run “x” amount of miles, strength train 3x a week, drink 8+ glasses of water per day….etc.)
- Make daily goals for the week. (Upper body on Monday, Tempo Tuesday, Journal, etc.)
At the start of each week, with your partner, revisit your goals, make adjustments to your upcoming week, and check out what the Run Love Challenge says for the next week’s challenge!
